About Us

Colbe College was established in 2024 by Colleen Kellerman, Belinda Ambler, and Jacqui Ferreira. The mission is to help South African children and young adults become independent, self-disciplined, and well-prepared for future success.

Colbe College was born out of a need identified by Belinda and Colleen for knowledgeable and highly skilled teachers and assistants to work in the Educare Sector. This need demands improved levels of tuition, more practical experience and robust graduate assessments, which Colbe College intends to address. In addition, many years of experience in managing, maintaining, and cleaning the Educare Centre, provides a great opportunity to create supplementary courses for these critical roles.

The plan to expand into various vocational trades over time to offer school leavers options for diverse and sustainable careers. We look forward to on-boarding similar minded experts in various fields to help achieve our vision and mission.

We intend to create a college where learners from across the country can receive a comprehensive education regardless of their academic background.

Jacqui Ferreira – Course Developer and Business Management

Over her 30 years plus career, Jacqui has enjoyed various industries as she climbed the corporate ladder. Being in the corporate environment, she accumulated extensive experience in systems, processes, marketing and management. She brings these skills into Colbe College not only to set up the college, but also to expand the Colbe College offering to our students by imparting skills to them in appropriate learning programs.

Jacqui believes education is the foundation of the South African economy and the key to future prosperity of all its people. Together with her colleagues, she is excited to enter the adult learning space to influence the future employers, employees and leadership of South Africa and beyond.

Colleen Kellerman – Course Developer, Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator

Colleen has spent the last 25 years educating her young students in the family-run ECD Centre. This was in addition to nurturing and coaching the balance of the school’s extensive workforce. She is passionate about education and is driven to create possibilities for anyone who is willing to work hard to achieve their hopes and aspirations. Colleen now moves into the adult education space and, together with the support of Jacqui and Belinda, is creating a college initially focused on developing skills and knowledge of teachers to provide children the best possible education in their early years.

Colleen is an ECD field expert, has a bachelor’s degree in English through UNISA and is a certified Facilitator, Assessor and Mediator.

Belinda Ambler – Assessor, Moderator and Mentor

Belinda is currently the Principal of Tick Tock Educare Centre, a well-established and sought after ECD school in Newton Park, Gqeberha. With her experience in the ECD sector, she guides her staff in the best practices of nurturing and educating children through early childhood development. Her knowledge and experience of school administration and procedures are invaluable to developing learners who wish to open their own ECD centres.

She is a certified ECD Practitioner, and Assessor and Moderator
